Maria Elena (Mel) Lagomasino
Chief Executive Officer

Maria Elena Lagomasino (Mel) is Chief Executive Officer of GenSpring Family Offices, a multi-family office that was originally established in 1989 as AMA - Asset Management Advisors. Mel was named CEO of the firm in November 2005. A recognized leader in the wealth management industry, Mel was most recently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of JP Morgan Private Bank, an institution with more than $300 billion in client assets under supervision.
Her career in banking began in 1977 at Citibank. She joined the Chase Manhattan Private Bank in 1983 as Vice President and Team Leader for Latin America and was named head of Chase's worldwide private banking business in 1997. Following the Chase-JP Morgan merger, she became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the JPMorgan Private Bank.
Mel serves on the boards of Avon Products, Inc., the Lincoln Center Theater, and is a Trustee on the Board of the National Geographic Society. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and The Economic Club of New York. In September 2006, she was appointed to serve on the Secretary of State's Advisory Committee on Transformational Diplomacy. In November 2005, she was appointed by President Bush to help lead an effort to secure private sector funds to aid disaster victims in Central America.
A graduate of Manhattanville College (B.A.), Mel also completed graduate work at both Columbia University (M.S.) and Fordham University (M.B.A.).
Michael Holden
Chief Operating Officer

Michael Holden was named Chief Operating Officer of GenSpring Family Offices in November 2005. Mike was most recently Chief Operating Officer of JP Morgan Private Bank, an institution with more than $300 billion in client assets under supervision, where he was responsible for finance, operations, technology, client services and risk management for the global business. He was previously Director of Global Wealth Management there.
A seasoned executive in the wealth management arena, Mike spent more than 12 years with The Chase Manhattan Private Bank, before Chase merged with JP Morgan in 2002. During his years at Chase he held progressively more responsible positions, including serving as Chairman and President of The Chase Manhattan Bank of Florida and as US Market Manager at The Chase Manhattan Private Bank.
Mike serves on the Advisory Board of the Wolfsonian Museum at Florida International University (FIU). He holds degrees from St. Lawrence University (B.A.) and Columbia University (MA and MPhil).
Michael Zeuner
Chief Strategy and Client Experience Officer

Michael Zeuner is Chief Strategy and Client Experience Officer of GenSpring Family Offices. In this capacity, he has responsibility for management and oversight of GenSpring's network of family offices. In addition, he has executive team leadership responsibility for strategic planning and marketing. GenSpring is a leading provider of family office solutions for families of substantial wealth, partnering with them to fulfill their visions for success across generations.
Prior to his role at GenSpring, Michael was Managing Director and Global Head of Wealth Solutions at JP Morgan Private Bank. In this capacity, he was on the executive team with responsibility for strategic planning, branding, marketing and specialized advisory services (art, philanthropy and family governance) for the worldwide private bank.
A management consultant by training, Michael led projects in the financial services area for both Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He joined Chase Manhattan in 1995 as Vice President in the investment bank, and moved to the private bank in 1997 to head up strategy and marketing worldwide. JP Morgan and Chase Manhattan merged in January 2002.
Michael graduated from Brandeis University, (B.A.) and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He also studied at The London School of Economics. He resides with his wife Julia, and three children in New York City.
Henry (Hap) Perry
Founder and Chairman Emeritus

After graduating from the Wharton School in 1970, Henry (Hap) Perry went to work for his family's businesses. He took on a variety of operational roles, leading start-up and turn-around situations in industries ranging from modular housing to sub-sea engineering to cable television. In addition to managing the family enterprises, he started a number of businesses on his own in the cable television, automobile, medical and real estate fields.
After selling most of the operations in the 1980s, the management of his families' liquid wealth became more of an increasing concern. In 1989, after 18 months of research, he began Asset Management Advisors, Inc. for himself and other members of his family. Asset Management Advisors, now known as GenSpring Family Offices is a pioneer of the family office industry and is currently one the largest multi-family offices in the United States. Hap is currently the Chairman Emeritus of GenSpring.
Hap is also the Founder and Chairman of the Foundation for Science and Spirituality, an education and research foundation studying the intersection of science and religion. He also participates in several investment industry think tanks and resource groups.
Andrew P. Mehalko, CFA
Chief Investment Officer

Andrew Mehalko is the Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for GenSpring Family Offices. Andrew's responsibilities involve development and management of GenSpring's investment process, investment strategy, and identification and selection of money managers. In addition, Andrew is Chairman of GenSpring's Investment Committee and is responsible for GenSpring's proprietary investment solutions which consist of sixteen strategies.
Andrew comes to GenSpring from an impressive history of professional portfolio management and investment advisory services, including several years as the Chief Investment Officer for DCA Global Investment Management. Andrew, a Chartered Financial Analyst, also brings valuable client service and marketing expertise to GenSpring.
Andrew received a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. He has also completed course work in Behavioral Finance seminar held at Harvard University and the Investment Management Workshop at Harvard University Business School. He holds the NASD Series 3 and 65 securities registrations and is a member of The Economic Club of New York.
Steve Barimo
Chief Innovation Officer

Steve Barimo joined the firm in 2001 and leads GenSpring's Innovation & Learning Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, which serves as the company's intellectual capital hub. As Head of the Innovation & Learning Center, Steve is responsible for research into areas of family wealth, all family learning activities and events, including the annual Family Symposium and Women's & Men's Retreats, and the innovation of new services, including the ongoing development of GenSpring's patent-pending Wealth Management Process. Steve also directly advises client families in the areas of family governance, strategic planning, values education and mentoring, family learning and mission statement development.
Prior to joining the firm, Steve was President of Sageworks, Inc., a developer of financial advisory software, which he joined after spending more than 10 years as a an advisor to entrepreneurs and family businesses, most recently as a Director with First Union Securities, Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Bucknell University and a Master's of Business Administration from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
David Bokman
Chief Wealth Advisory Officer

David Bokman has been with GenSpring Family Offices since 2001. As Chief Wealth Advisory Officer and head of GenSpring's Family Wealth Advisory Practice, David is responsible for the firm-wide delivery and support of all non-investment aspects of the Wealth Management Process and provides leadership to the Family Wealth Advisor community.
Prior to taking on this company-wide role with GenSpring, David served as the founder and President of GenSpring's two Atlanta offices. David has deep and varied experience in a broad range of wealth management issues. He has investment banking experience with The First Boston Corporation and Morgan Stanley, and estate planning experience as a Senior Manager with Arthur Andersen & Co. and as a Partner with the King & Spalding law firm in Atlanta, where he specialized in sophisticated estate planning for high net worth families. Prior to joining GenSpring, he was a Vice President and Investment Manager at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he assisted high net worth families on a broad range of investment management and financial advisory issues.
David is a Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude graduate of Yale College (1984) and has a J.D. degree from Yale Law School (1988).
William P. Barbeosch
Chief Fiduciary Officer

William P. Barbeosch, an attorney with more than twenty years experience in trust and estate and wealth management issues, joined GenSpring Family Offices in 2006 and serves as the firm's Chief Fiduciary Officer. He is also Chairman of Teton Trust Company, the firm's trust company affiliate.
Prior to joining GenSpring, Bill was Managing Director and Chief Fiduciary Officer of Citigroup Trust and Head of the Fiduciary Solutions Group. Before that, Bill was a Managing Director with JP Morgan Chase & Co., responsible for a variety of fiduciary planning and administration services for private bank clients worldwide.
Before embarking on a banking career, Bill practiced law, concentrating on trust and estate matters. He was an attorney with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and Casey, Lane & Mittendorf. He advised both U.S. and international clients.
Bill is a member of The Alice Tully Foundation, the Bankers and Lawyers Advisory Committee of the New York Philharmonic, The Executive Committee of the Trust Management Association of the American Bankers Association, and the U.S. Development Committee of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. His biography appears in Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in America.
Bill received a B.A., magna cum laude, from Brown University, a J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law, and an M.B.A from the Yale School of Management.
John T. Elmes, CFA
Chief Business Development & Marketing Officer

As Chief Business Development & Marketing Officer, John has primary responsibility for the GenSpring business development organization as well as ensuring that our marketing efforts closely align with and enable our business development activities.
As former co-chairman of the Mid Atlantic LFO, John Elmes had successfully transitioned his former practice and fostered its growth to $1.5 billion in assets under advisement.
Prior to joining GenSpring, John was a Director at Deutsche Bank Alex Brown in Baltimore, Maryland. John co-developed the Personal CFO group, which served families of significant wealth, offering investment, tax and estate planning services. John and his partner were managing in excess of $650 million for client families.
Prior to Deutsche Bank Alex Brown, John was a tax partner in the Private Client Services group of Arthur Andersen. He was a founder of Andersen’s Investment Advisory practice and was one of the partners responsible for building the division to more than $5 billion in taxable high-net-worth assets under advisement. Specifically, John was the partner responsible for the nearly $1 billion Mid-Atlantic investment practice, delivering comprehensive investment solutions for high-net-worth clients. John was one of Andersen’s specialists in assisting clients with tax-efficient single-stock diversification, hedging strategies, and the implementation of portfolios in excess of $25 million.
John is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the CFA Institute, a member of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts, and a former board member of the Make a Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic. He is Series 3, 30 and 65 registered. John graduated summa cum laude from George Mason University School of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Investments.
Eamon Kelly
Director of Human Resources

Eamon Kelly joined GenSpring Family Offices in 2006 as the Director of Human Resources overseeing GenSpring's human resources function. In support of GenSpring's continued expansion, Eamon is focused on an aggressive talent acquisition strategy along with building a comprehensive organizational model that will support future growth.
Prior to joining GenSpring, Eamon spent more than 16 years in human resources with JPMorganChase and operated as an HR business partner for the wealth management business since 1994. Starting with the Technology, Operations & Client Services groups, Eamon assumed additional responsibilities for business groups such as U.S. and Latin America Client Relationship Managers, Investment Management, and Trust and Estate Professionals.
Eamon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Iona College.
