John along with John Elmes started GenSpring in the Mid-Atlantic. John has more than 22 years of experience providing comprehensive wealth management services to high-net worth families, particularly in the areas of investment planning, estate planning, income tax planning, and succession planning.
John is jointly responsible for supervising all family relationships of the firm for the Mid-Atlantic, and is responsible for maintaining the high-quality service and support to which our families have become accustomed.
Prior to GenSpring, John was a Senior Manager in Arthur Andersen's Family Wealth Planning Practice. As part of this practice John was involved in the Family Business Forum at American University.
John is a Certified Public Accountant, a personal Financial Specialist, and a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. John graduated with high honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Master of Accounting degree with a specialization in Tax. John is currently the Treasurer of The National Kidney Foundation of the Capital Area.
